Abhanpur. A speeding car lost control and rammed into a cloth shop near Navapara bridge in Gobra Navapara town on Thursday afternoon at around 3 pm. In this tragic accident, Hansraj Kansari (40) died on the spot, while four people were seriously injured. After this incident, there was chaos in the area. The injured have been admitted to the hospital, where treatment is going on.
he driver surrendered after reaching the police station
The car driver Santosh Sahu (resident of Kundel) fled from the spot after the accident and went straight to the police station and surrendered. On receiving the information of the incident, SDM Ravi Singh, Tehsildar Srujan Sonkar, Navapara TI Jitendra Asaiya, Rakhi CSP Karan Uke, Abhanpur TI Abhishek Chaturvedi and Rakhi Thana TI Ajit Rajput reached the spot and controlled the situation. Local people demanded to declare Gaushala Chowk as a sensitive area, as many accidents have happened here before.
Eyewitnesses narrated their ordeal
Injured Mehboob Khokhar, who was present in the shop at the time of the incident, said that the car crossed the bridge at a very high speed and suddenly went out of control and headed towards the shops. Hansraj Kansari was hit by it and four other people were injured. At present, the police is investigating the case. Action is being taken against the guilty driver.
According to the information, Shivam Thakur (18), Nawab Khokhar (55), Mehboob Khokhar (45) and Mohd. Shakeel (45) were injured in this accident. On receiving the information of the accident, the police reached the spot and started taking the crashed car to the police station with a crane, when the angry mob stopped the crane and vandalized the car. The angry people blocked the road by placing electric poles on National Highway-130, due to which long queues of vehicles were formed on both sides. However, the crowd showed humanity by giving way to the ambulance. The jam ended after about an hour after the persuasion of the police-administration.
