BJP councilors reached Mayor Ejaz Dhebar’s office on Tuesday to discuss the announcement of giving Rs 100 crore to Raipur Municipal Corporation. Here the councilors questioned that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced to give Rs 100 crore for Raipur Municipal Corporation on February 15. Whether this amount has reached the corporation’s account till now or not and if it has reached, how it will be spent.
All the BJP councilors who arrived along with Leader of Opposition Minal Choubey demanded development work on the proposals of all the 70 wards of the capital with an amount of Rs 100 crore. Meenal Choubey said that according to the information received by him, out of 100 crores, only 30 crore development works will be proposed from 70 wards. Expressing objection on this, he said that when the Chief Minister has made this announcement for Municipal Corporation Raipur, then basic works like roads, electricity, water, drains, culverts should be done within the wards with that amount.
The BJP councilors alleged that most of the works mentioned by them in the last 3 years have not been approved. As for asking for funds for the development of the ward, if the Mayor is hesitating for this, then the BJP councilors are ready to go to the Chief Minister to ask for 100 crores. Will protest fiercely if pension is not received.
Minal Choubey alleged that the beneficiaries are not getting the amount of pension schemes of the government for the last 3 months. He raised the question that who is responsible for this? Poor beneficiaries are wandering for pension. If they do not get the amount of pension within 1 week, then a fierce demonstration will be held in the Municipal Corporation along with the beneficiaries.
