Raipur: Another major achievement in the account of the government headed by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel: State Institute of Hotel Management, Chhattisgarh gets national recognition

IHM degree holders will get recognition in India and abroad. 

Raipur, 12 September 2020. Another achievement has been added to the account of the government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, who has earned national fame by launching ambitious schemes like Ram Van Gaman Path in Chhattisgarh. The State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) of Chhattisgarh has been accredited by the National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) for the first time since state formation. After this recognition, now the degree holders of State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) will be recognized in various institutions in the country and abroad. Significantly, the State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) was formed in 2006.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is striving to include Chhattisgarh in the tourism map of the country. For this, several schemes have been started in the field of tourism, so that tourists can be attracted towards Chhattisgarh. In this context, work is being done at a very fast pace for the Ram Van Gaman Path, the ambitious scheme of the state government. Along with promoting tourism, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel is also making efforts to further the youth in this area. On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Tourism Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Secretary of the Tourism Department, Ambalagan P. and Ifafat Ara, Managing Director of Tourism Board, took the initiative to recognize the State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), which has yielded favorable results. The recognition of the National Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) to the State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) will come into effect from the academic session 2020-21. Under which teaching work and all other processes are in the final stage.

The National Hotel Management and Catering Technology Council (NCHMCT) has granted permission to the State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) to conduct these programs, courses from the academic session 2020-21. In which B.Sc, Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Diploma in Food Production, Diploma in Food and Beverage Service, Diploma in House Keeping Operations, B.Sc pass, after passing the competitive exam to JEE graduate students, NCHM for admission in Hospitality and Hotel Administration Centralized counseling has been started. State Institute of Hotel Management, Uparwara, Nava Raipur has been included in the (NCHMCT) counseling list. Apart from this, direct entry facility is also available for 12th pass students.

Iftar Ara, Managing Director of Tourism Board and Principal of State Institute of Hotel Management, Upwara, said that classes will start at IHM from the first week of October. A governing body has been formed to run the institute. Tourism Secretary Mr. Anbalagan P., Chairman of this Governing Body, said that the recognition of State Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in Raipur is an important achievement to meet the shortage of human resources in the hotel and hospitality sector in Chhattisgarh. Students interested in the hospitality sector of not only Chhattisgarh but other nearby states will also be benefited by this.
