Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the ceremony of taking over the charge of the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation Limited (CGMSC) Shri Deepak Mhaske in the auditorium of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College in the capital Raipur and congratulated him from the seat of the chief guest. During this, the guests including the Chief Minister released the CGMSC Supply Chain Management SOP. 

       Addressing the function, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation Limited (CGMSC) was established in the year 2010 during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. The role of this institution has been very important in ensuring quality, transparency and timely availability of essential medicines and equipment in the health services of the state. Today this corporation is not only a supply agency, but is also playing a big role in strengthening the health system of the state. 
             The Chief Minister said that he was happy to know that Shri Deepak Mhaske was formerly a chemistry teacher. This experience will now strengthen the scientific approach in the work of CGMSC under his leadership, which will directly benefit the people of the state. He said that Chhattisgarh is celebrating the silver jubilee of its state formation this year. Since the formation of the state in the year 2000, health services in the state have continuously improved. Institutions like AIIMS are functioning in the state and 13 medical colleges have also been established, which is a proof of the commitment of the state government in the health sector. 
         Chief Minister Shri Sai said that health is the biggest asset of any citizen and for this purpose, Ayushman Bharat Yojana started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided free treatment facility to crores of poor families of the country. In Chhattisgarh too, lakhs of families are getting benefited under this scheme. He said that at present the Health Minister himself is energetic and active and now the responsibility of the corporation has been given to a hardworking and capable person like Shri Deepak Mahaske, so certainly CGMSC will play a big role in providing quality health services to the citizens of the state. At the end of the address, the Chief Minister congratulated Shri Mahaske and expressed confidence that his tenure will make the health service system of Chhattisgarh more effective, transparent and public-friendly.
                     Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that this corporation was formed in the year 2010 with the objective of timely availability of generic medicines, surgical materials, medical equipment and strengthening the basic health infrastructure. Dr. Singh said that the responsibility of this corporation has been given to capable, honest, farsighted and competent hands like Mr. Mhaske and he will be successful in providing health facilities to the last person. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr. Singh congratulated Mr. Mhaske on getting the new responsibility. Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal addressed the program and shared information about the work of CGMSC, the plans, activities and achievements of the Health Department.
         On this occasion, MLA Mr. Motilal Sahu, MLA Mr. Kiran Dev, MLA Mr. Amar Aggarwal, MLA Mr. Sunil Soni, MLA Mr. Rohit Sahu, MLA Mr. Indra Kumar Sahu, Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. P Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rahul Bhagat, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Basavaraju S, Secretary of Health Department Mr. Amit Kataria along with Chairmen of Corporations and Boards, public representatives and officers and employees were present.
