People are appealed to join the campaign “One tree in the name of mother”

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai planted an almond sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign in the high school ground campus at Sambalpur in Kanker district today. This program is a strong initiative towards making environmental protection a mass movement in the state. On this occasion, along with the Chief Minister, Kanker MP Shri Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Shri Vikramdev Usendi, MLA Shri Asharam Netam, along with many public representatives and common citizens also planted trees enthusiastically.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan is not limited to tree plantation only, it is a concept of reverence towards mother, gratitude towards nature and secure future for future generations. When we plant a tree in the name of our mother, it creates an emotional attachment and we also take care of it wholeheartedly. He appealed to the common citizens to participate in this campaign and plant at least one tree in the name of their mother, beloved deity. The Chief Minister said that this initiative will prove to be a milestone in the direction of making Chhattisgarh a green state. Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan is an innovative initiative, which aims to combine social and emotional concerns with environmental awareness.
