Governor and Chancellor Shri Ramen Deka today conducted a surprise inspection of Kushabhau Thackeray Journalism and Mass Communication University, Raipur and gave strict instructions to improve the administrative system.
Governor Shri Deka inspected the administrative building of the university. He instructed to make the building hi-tech as per the needs of the students. After this, he held a meeting and took information about the activities of the university from the Vice Chancellor and professors. He expressed displeasure over the slow admission process in the university. He instructed to increase the admission of students by increasing the courses being run in the university.
During the inspection, Shri Deka took information about the teaching and other staff working in the university. The professors there are posted at other places. Studies are getting affected due to the shortage of teaching staff. Shri Deka has given instructions to immediately recall the professors posted at other places.
He said that study and teaching facilities should be ensured in accordance with the grand structure of the university. He also directed to remove the lack of transport facilities for commuting to the university. A permanent registrar has not been appointed in the university, for which he was asked to write a letter to the Higher Education Department.
Shri Deka asked to hold the meetings of the University’s Executive Council and Academic Council regularly and to send a proposal for necessary amendments in the University Act soon for smooth functioning. He also directed to ensure the right use of RUSA funds.
During the inspection, Vice Chancellor Shri Mahadev Kavre, Deputy Secretary to the Governor Smt. Hina Animesh Netam, Under Secretary Shri Anubhav Sharma and other officials of the university were present.
