Amrit station in Ambikapur developed at a cost of more than Rs 6 crore
Chhattisgarh got the gift of 5 Amrit stations

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated 103 stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana. These include 5 railway stations including Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh. These railway stations have been equipped with world-class facilities. This is the new culture of development of Indian Railways, in which selected railway stations are being redeveloped. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai joined this virtual program from Ambikapur Railway Station.
It is noteworthy that the result of the farsightedness of Indian Railways and the country’s Prime Minister Shri Modi is that these development works will provide modern facilities to the local passengers and will give impetus to tourism and economic activities in the region. Indian Railways has started the rejuvenation of 1337 stations, out of which the redevelopment work of 103 stations has been completed. These include five stations of Chhattisgarh state – Ambikapur of Bilaspur division, Urkura of Raipur division, Bhilai, Bhanupratappur and Dongargarh railway station of Nagpur division.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said on this occasion that the railway station in Ambikapur was established due to the efforts of respected Larang Sai ji. The Prime Minister of the country, Shri Modi, is working considering 140 crore countrymen as his family. He said that Chhattisgarh has to be made a developed state by 2047. Railway stations are being continuously developed under Amrit Kaal. The five places in the state that have been inaugurated today are a glimpse of the developing India. The Chief Minister said that now continuous efforts are being made to connect Jashpur district with rail connectivity.

Choudhary, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MP Mr. Chintamani Maharaj, MLA Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, Mrs. Shakuntala Porte, Mrs. Uddeshwari Paikra, Mr. Ram Kumar Toppo, Mr. Prabodh Minj, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission Mr. Vishwa Vijay Singh Tomar, Mayor Mr. Manjusha Bhagat, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, along with many public representatives and a large number of citizens of Surguja region participated in the program.
Ambikapur Railway Station
Ambikapur Railway Station, which has been the center of tribal cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh, is an integral part of Indian Railways, the lifeline of the country. This railway station has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Many new provisions have also been made in this new station building with the aim of providing complete facilities to the passengers. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, upgradation and modernization work has been done at Ambikapur Railway Station at a cost of Rs 6 crore 29 lakh, which includes widening of the road while improving the circulating area, entrance equipped to welcome passengers, 3900 square meter road, parking arrangement for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers on 3677 square meters.
The passengers at Ambikapur Railway Station will benefit from advanced and modern facilities like second class, upper class waiting room and VIP room, 6 new modern shaded platform sheds, modern toilets for women, men and differently-abled people, water fountain, train/coach display board, CCTV cameras, ramp and tactile tiles, 300 meters stainless steel railing, 58 street lights, high mast lights for better lighting, latest public announcement system.
A big tricolor flag has been installed outside the railway station premises and a selfie point has also been made for the passengers in the station on the lines of the famous Sitabengra cave of Surguja. Facilities like grand entrance, attractive facade, high mast lighting, modern waiting room, ticket counter, modern toilet and accessible ramp for Divyangjan have been developed at Ambikapur railway station. Shelters, coach indication system and digital displays for information have been installed on the platform. All facilities have been made Divyangjan friendly. At the same time, a glimpse of local folk art, culture and traditions will also be seen at every station.
