Council of Ministers approves Logistics Policy 2025

Raipur, June 30, 2025

Chhattisgarh Logistics Policy 2025 was approved in the cabinet meeting held at Mahanadi Bhawan Secretariat today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. Under this new policy, the state government will provide grants up to Rs 140 crore and many other concessions to promote private investment in the logistics sector.

Up to 40 percent subsidy will be given on the cost of infrastructure like logistics hub, dry port, inland container depot, air cargo terminal and Gati-Shakti cargo terminal, the maximum limit of which will be Rs 140 crore. Apart from this, other concessions including 50 percent subsidy for external infrastructure will be given to the investors. This subsidy for transport hub or freight station will be 35 percent, the maximum limit of which is Rs 5 crore. The state government aims to develop Chhattisgarh as the country’s leading logistics hub, so that industries, traders and farmers can get cheap and modern storage facilities.

Chhattisgarh’s geographical location in central India is suitable for logistics activities. Taking advantage of this, the state government will now attract logistics and e-commerce companies for investment. This will increase the state’s storage capacity and reduce logistics costs, which will accelerate trade and economic development.

Under this policy, the establishment of dry ports, container depots and air cargo terminals will provide local industries and producers an opportunity to reach the export market. Along with this, new avenues of export will open up for forest resources, forest produce and medicinal plants. New employment opportunities will also be created for the youth.

For setting up warehouse and cold storage, provision has been made for capital investment subsidy of 35 to 45 percent, interest subsidy of 50 to 60 percent including exemption in electricity duty and stamp duty. Similarly, for logistics park, subsidy up to Rs. 25 lakh per acre, 50 percent assistance for external infrastructure, 10 percent additional incentive will be given in areas like Bastar and Surguja. A provision of 5 percent additional subsidy has been made for adopting green logistics. Special incentive will be given for investing more than Rs. 500 crore or providing employment to more than 1000 people.

The objective of this policy is to reduce logistics cost in the state, develop modern multimodal infrastructure, strengthen export infrastructure and increase private investment in the logistics sector. It is worth mentioning here that earlier the logistics sector used to get encouragement under the industrial policy, but now in accordance with the Leeds Survey of the Government of India, Chhattisgarh has entered the category of leading states of the country by making an independent logistics policy. While this new initiative of the Chhattisgarh government will give a new direction to investment, Chhattisgarh will be the leading state of the country in the field of employment, trade and export.
