There has been a tightening in the work of urban bodies, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw had instructed the commissioners and CMOs to visit and inspect in the morning

The effect of the instructions given by Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw to the Commissioners and Chief Municipal Officers to visit the wards every morning and inspect the works in the departmental review meetings has started showing. After the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw, from February 2024, the Commissioners of all Municipal Corporations and Chief Municipal Officers of Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats are continuously monitoring the implementation of cleanliness, construction works and schemes by visiting the wards every morning along with their subordinates. This has accelerated the work of door-to-door garbage collection, road sweeping, S.L.R.M. centers compost shed, construction works of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, organizing camps of Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme, construction of parks and ponds as well as roads, water management, drain cleaning, cleaning of public toilets, laying of pipelines under Amrit Mission and water supply schemes. After the senior officials of the body started visiting and inspecting the wards from six o’clock in the morning every day, continuous improvement is also visible in the quality of cleanliness and construction works.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw is constantly emphasizing on ensuring the quality of construction works in urban bodies and completing them within the time limit. Along with making the cities clean, beautiful and environment-friendly, he has instructed the officials to make the benefits of the schemes reach every eligible citizen. Shri Saw had asked all the commissioners and chief municipal officers to ensure that they visit the wards every morning to tighten the work of urban bodies, effectively monitor the works and expedite the works under construction. After his instructions, regular field visits are being done by the officials of the bodies to improve the better operation and quality of the schemes. Due to this, a decrease in GVP (Garbage Vulnerable Points) has been observed in all the bodies. Along with this, there has been a significant improvement in the cleanliness system of the bodies. After the daily inspection of the wards by the officials, along with the performance and evaluation of the schemes and identification of important problems, help is being received in setting standards for improving quality. Due to this, the schemes of the government are also being implemented effectively in the urban bodies.
