Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah today laid the foundation stone of National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) Raipur Campus and e-inaugurated the temporary campus of NFSU Raipur in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Many dignitaries including Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Vishnudev Sai, Union Home Secretary and Director, Intelligence Bureau were present on the occasion.
In his address, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that today is a very important day for the criminal justice system of Chhattisgarh as three new initiatives are being taken to modernize this system. He said that the three initiatives started today will work to provide a base to the criminal justice system of not only Chhattisgarh but the entire central India in the coming days.
Shri Amit Shah said that Chhattisgarh I Hub has also been inaugurated today. With the youth of Chhattisgarh becoming MSME industrialists and developing their own startups, more investment opportunities will be created in the state and Chhattisgarh will move forward at a fast pace towards industrial revolution. He said that with the launch of I Hub, the youth of Chhattisgarh are going to get a big platform. Shri Shah said that today NFSU campus is going to be built here at a cost of Rs 145 crore and CFSL at a cost of Rs 123 crore, whose total cost is Rs 268 crore. In this way, the highest institute of forensic science will now come to Naya Raipur. He said that graduation from NFSU means a sure guarantee of a job and NFSU will help in the progress of Chhattisgarh in the field of education and employment.
The Union Home Minister said that this year is the centenary year of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji and the entire credit for the creation of Chhattisgarh goes to respected Atal Ji. He said that the entire credit for developing Chhattisgarh after its formation goes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Shri Shah said that Chhattisgarh is celebrating its 25th foundation year and the Chhattisgarh government has decided to celebrate this year as Atal Nirman Varsh. Shri Shah said that in the coming days, Naya Raipur will also be included among the most modern and green capitals.
Shri Amit Shah said that the state government has done a very good job for the full implementation of the three new criminal laws in Chhattisgarh. He said that after the full implementation of the new criminal laws, the complainant and the victim will be able to get justice up to the Supreme Court in three years in any FIR registered in any corner of the country. The Home Minister said that after the full implementation of the three new laws, our criminal justice system will become the most modern system in the world and we will enter the era of evidence-based criminal justice system. Shri Shah said that the Modi government has worked to create a modern, speedy and scientific justice system with the three new criminal laws. He said that Prime Minister Modi’s vision is very clear that the creation of a developed India by 2047 is not just related to infrastructure, industry, innovation and economic development, but it also includes getting justice on time.
The Union Home Minister said that where there is scientific evidence, there is accurate result and with the help of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), in the coming days, India will be among the leading countries in the world in the conviction rate. He said that the new criminal laws that the Modi government has brought by abolishing the 160-year-old colonial laws make the visit of the forensic science team mandatory in all crimes with a punishment of more than seven years. This shows how much immense potential exists in our country in the field of forensic science.
Shri Amit Shah said that after the establishment of NFSU, 16 campuses have been started in a very short time, out of which 7 are established and 9 are approved, as well as 10 additional campuses are also proposed. He said that the Modi government is going to expand NFSU in 26 major places of the country. After these are fully developed, we will get 32 thousand forensic experts every year in the coming years. The Home Minister said that according to a survey, the world’s forensic technology market is 20 billion dollars, which will reach 55 billion dollars by 2036 with a 13 percent compound annual growth rate and India’s share in this is expected to be 9 percent.
