Raipur. The movement launched by Congress regarding Kumhari toll plaza has once again gained momentum. A strong signature campaign was launched at Kumhari toll plaza from 11 am today under the leadership of former MLA and Congress leader Vikas Upadhyay. The objective of this campaign is to garner public support against the alleged illegal toll collection at the toll plaza and to approach the court to stop it. Protested by applying black paint on the scanning camera

During this, taking an important and symbolic step, Vikas Upadhyay deactivated the scanning camera installed on the free entry route by applying black paint on it. He said that when free vehicles with Raipur 04 and Durg 07 registration are to be allowed to pass through this route without stopping at the toll, then there is no justification for installing a scanning camera there. He alleged that money was being quietly deducted from the FASTag of VIP vehicles through scanning cameras, which is a sheer fraud.Communication with the public, then signatures

During the signature campaign, Vikas Upadhyay and Congress workers stopped the drivers passing through the toll plaza, talked to them and told them about the illegal methods of toll collection. Hundreds of citizens supported this campaign by signing, which will be presented in the court and a legal demand will be made to stop illegal toll collection.

The fight will go to the court

Vikas Upadhyay clarified that this is not just a movement but a fight for justice. He said, “This toll plaza is being operated in a completely illegal manner. We will take legal action in the court against the agencies or individuals who are doing this irregularity under the protection of the Bharatiya Janata Party.” He also informed that the Congress has already discussed the issue with NHAI Project Director Digvijay Singh, written a letter to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and submitted a memorandum to 10 BJP MPs of Chhattisgarh.
