Participants in the Five-Day Workshop Will Receive Training in Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, and Dance
Janjgir-Champa.The five-day Provincial Classical Music Workshop 2026 has been organized at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Shivnarayan, under the joint auspices of the Sanskar Bharati District Unit (Shakti) and the Nagar Panchayat (Town Council) of Shivnarayan (District Janjgir-Champa). The workshop was formally inaugurated by the former Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Cow Service Commission, Rajeshree Mahant Ramsundar Das Ji Maharaj, along with other distinguished guests. The program was presided over by social worker Pawan Sultania. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and the garlanding of the idol of Goddess Saraswati—the deity of music. The organizing committee extended a warm welcome to the guests by presenting them with shawls, coconuts, and floral garlands. Artists hailing from various regions—including Gwalior and Khairagarh—presented captivating performances in vocal music, instrumental music, and dance. Addressing the trainees present on this occasion, Rajeshree Mahant Ji Maharaj remarked, “It is a matter of immense privilege for us, the residents of Shivnarayan, that a provincial-level music training workshop has been organized in our town by the Sanskar Bharati District Unit (Shakti). Here, you will receive training from renowned music practitioners who have arrived from various regions—including the state of Chhattisgarh as well as other provinces. I am not merely hopeful, but fully confident, that this workshop will provide you all with an excellent opportunity to learn and gain a deeper understanding of the diverse genres of music.” Addressing the gathering, Bhagavatacharya Yogesh Sharma quoted the scriptures, stating: “One who is devoid of literature, music, and art is akin to a beast—albeit one without a tail or horns.” Acharya Om Prakash Sharma affirmed, “Music is the divine power of God.” Other speakers, including social worker Subodh Shukla, also addressed the audience. Prominent citizens and dignitaries present on this occasion included Dr. Yash Devale (Classical Vocalist from Gwalior), Deepak Das Mahant (Tabla Instructor from Khairagarh), Ms. Seema Bareth (Kathak Dancer), Principal Basant Dewangan, Mr. Mishra (from the field of education), Jagdish Yadav, Media In-charge Nirmal Das Vaishnav, and Harsh Dubey. The program was formally conducted, in turns, by Sharad Pandey and Manoj Tiwari. The President of the organization, K.R. Kashyap, expressed his gratitude.
