Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw will receive the award along with departmental officers and representatives of concerned bodies

Seven urban bodies of Chhattisgarh that performed well in Swachh Survekshan-2024 will be awarded by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will give these awards at the Swachh Survekshan Awards ceremony organized on July 17 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw will receive the awards along with departmental officials and representatives of the concerned bodies.

President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will give President’s Award to three urban bodies of Chhattisgarh in the Swachh Survekshan Award Ceremony. For excellent work in cleanliness, Bilaspur Municipal Corporation has been selected in the category of cities with a population of three lakh to ten lakh (Big Cities), Kumhari Municipality in the category of 20 thousand to 50 thousand (Small Cities) and Bilha Nagar Panchayat in the category of cities with a population of less than 20 thousand (Very Small Cities). The Ministerial Award will be given to Raipur Municipal Corporation by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for good work in cleanliness at the state level.

This time, a special category of Super Swachhta League (SSL) is being introduced under Swachh Survekshan-2024 to recognize the cities performing exceptionally in the field of cleanliness. This league includes those cities which have been in the top three at least once in the last three years and which remain in the top 200 in their respective population category in the Swachh Survekshan assessment of the current year. Three urban bodies of Chhattisgarh are also included among those who have performed exceptionally and excellently in the special and new category of Super Swachhta League (SSL). Ambikapur Municipal Corporation has been selected for SSL in the category of cities with a population of 50 thousand to three lakh and Patan Nagar Panchayat and Bishrampur Nagar Panchayat in the category of cities with a population of less than 20 thousand.
